Bridging the Divide in Oregon + Georgia

Updated: Dec 11, 2020

Jamie McLeod Skinner on Bridging the Divide COIN Virtual Presentation, December 8, 7:00pm

Jamie McLeod Skinner, from Oregon’s second congressional district and former contender for the Democratic candidate for Secretary of State, will give a presentation on a special COIN call, Tuesday, December 8, at 7:00pm. She will address the issue of bridging the divide between urban and rural areas of the state. Skinner has been at the forefront of conceptualizing and carrying out change in how people from different backgrounds view each other and how they can collaborate. Many Indivisible members worked on Jamie’s campaigns in 2018 and 2020 and know how inspiring and effective her approach is. As we begin to focus on 2021, let’s hear what she has to say about our collective future and how we can direct our efforts for the change we seek. To receive the Zoom link to join the call, please register here.

Give a Hand to Georgia

Both of Georgia’s two upcoming Senate races are winnable, and they need all hands on deck. You can find out details about writing letters, making calls, and getting out the vote here on Indivisible’s national website. And, once again, Indivisible Oregon is joining forces with Reclaim Our Vote’s phone banks. To sign up for one in the days ahead, go here. The runoff election will be held January 5 and is critical for keeping Mitch McConnell and the Republicans at bay!

Activist Reading Group December Meeting

The next meeting of the OST Activist Reading Group will be held on Thursday, December 10, from 7:00-8:30pm and will entail a general discussion of everyone’s post-election thoughts and feelings. There are no assigned readings. If you would like to join the group, contact Ken Rosenberg at rosenbergkd@yahoo.com. For anyone interested in universal health care, Ken suggests reading “Why Private Health Insurance Makes No Sense” and listening to a recording of Dr. Sam Metz’s talk “On Medicare for All.” Also, reach out to Ken if you would like a Medicare for All lawn sign or want to learn more.
